ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Girl awareness
Primarily, the girl awareness project is aimed at inspiring Nigerian girls and women to be creative, innovative and financially stable, inspiring them to be bold and confident in their dreams, giving them a mind shift and the understanding that they can be and achieve whatsoever they set their hearts and mind to, not minding what the African society suggests a woman should act or think and providing necessary legal information and opportunities to take their dreams a step further.
Measurable goals:
The girl awareness project aims at hosting two rural outreaches, reaching out to at least 70girls and women, who are not privileged in getting some urban opportunities, providing them with necessary legal information, materials and opportunities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tochi Onyia is a senior at the university of port Harcourt, studying accounting. Tochi is currently the financial coordinator for 360 volunteer network, a Non governmental organization founded by Beauty martins. Tochi is passionate about leadership, touching and impacting lives positively. She is passionate about capacity building, human rights and the right of the African girl child. Tochi is smart, ever ready and willing to learn, she is strategic passionate and confident.
