ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

" I want to reduce waste on college campuses. They currently have a reputation for being wasteful relating to parties, but that can be changed with how we address filling stations of liquids. Rather than wasting liquid, which in some countries isn't clean, we can just limit the amount we use so that more is saved. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project 19.7

This project will mitigate water waste from the automatic beverage dispensers that are used at various location by not allowing for overflow and by making spillage more difficult.

About the Millennium Fellow

James Rodgers is a sophomore at Widener University studying chemical engineering and chemistry with a minor in environmental sciences. He is passionate about cleansing water and ensuring that marine life persists despite improper human actions.
