ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations.  80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Enlightening Their Future

The Project is based on the 4th Sustainable Development Goal that is Quality Education. Quality Education is one of the most important goal among the SDGs. The Project title is "Enlightening Their Future". This project is mainly focusing on students of age 8-13. It includes training for children to improve their cognitive abilities and other related factors. The team are planning to conduct workshops webinars seminars etc in different geographical location area. This program focuses on individual attention to each children and help them to achieve their goals. It will basically involve targeting child's weaknesses and developing them in more versatile manner. The target learning in the form of workshop webinars etc include worksheets, Conducting memory games, small assessments etc. which can help them to adapt to the world and develop critical thinking, visual-auditory-motor skills,communication skills which allows a child to grasp deep learning capacity. The worksheet which the team would be using will include 5 important points that a child of this age should know, that is Stress (Managing Stress, My Coping Skills, Identifying stress etc), Anger Management (Anger thermometer, levels of anger, My Anger triggers etc) Anxiety (My Anxiety Triggers, How to Reduce Anxiety etc), Assertiveness (Assertiveness Bingo and Assertiveness Training) and Bullying (Buddy or Bully, Bullying Survey). The team also plan to include some home activities and will keep in touch with them even after the sessions. By this project we focus to improve the children from what they are now to a better person for tomorrow.

About the Millennium Fellow

Gayatri Joshi (she, her, her's) is an undergraduate student studying Psychology from Amity University, Mumbai, India and have worked as an intern at various places and also worked in NGO in the field of education. Her SDG is Quality Education and her project name is Enlightening Their Future.
