Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Sitara
The project will be carried on through Project Sitara Foundation, of which Rohit is a Founding Trustee. It is a not-for-profit organization that works towards enabling underprivileged children to become self sufficient through holistic education. In their efforts, they will identify schools, ashrams and communities with children who are underprivileged- in terms of opportunities, finances, disabilities and so on and provide them with quality holistic education through courses like Financial Literacy, Citizenship, Technology, English and academic courses like Math and Science, free of cost.
In August to December, Rohit will be working towards the following:
1) Teaching class 10 science to blind children in collaboration with Vision Empower, an organization that works towards the education for the blind in Karnataka, India.
2) Developing Teacher Instruction Kits for blind children across India, which will be uploaded on Subodha online portal.
3) Drafting curriculums of Citizenship, Financial Literacy and Technology and implementing these curriculums.
4) Implementing academic curriculums for economically and socially under-privileged children in Tirtha Ashram, Bengaluru.
