Millennium Fellowship Project: Students (In)ternational Development
International development is a field of growing importance in order to promote just and sustainable solutions to global challenges, though it can be difficult to define exactly what international development is. This confusion makes it more difficult for students to know if and where their goals and aspirations fit into this field, potentially hindering their ability to make a positive impact--whether it be in their studies, work, or daily life. This project works to provide students a grounded knowledge and understanding of the field of international development by connecting them with others in this type of work, sharing opportunities, developing an online platform to engage with each other, and provide educational materials. When students have a better understanding of the field and how they fit into it, they are better prepared to make the change they are seeking!
Measurable goals: - To establish an online platform across 4 different internet and media formats (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Website)
- To reach 600 followers across social media platforms by the end of the Fellowship
- To share a minimum of 7 international development opportunities per week across platforms
- To create an educational podcast with at least 1 episode per month beginning in September 2020
- To find at least 1 partner contributor to assist with growing and managing the project/platform before the end of the Fellowship
