" I am so exited to be a part of the Millennium Fellowship because it is a great opportunity to work alongside like-minded people who are trying to achieve the same goal- to make the world a better place. I am also excited to learn about various cultures and ideas from other students and alumni around the world. I believe that by working and committing as a collective team, the Millennium Fellows can achieve anything. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Optimizing Impact through Virtual Gatherings
The COVID-19 outbreak has forced many institutions' educational, business, government, and more to operate in a virtual capacity. While the world adheres to social distancing guidelines and stay-at-home orders, conferences, commencements, summits, and other knowledge sharing opportunities are now forced to happen over the Internet. Rather than accept that coronavirus will hamper our ongoing endeavors and welcome poorer outcomes, the Fellows aim to create a comprehensive guide for social impact organizations to host effective virtual gatherings. By researching best practices, gauging capacity, and learning from successful endeavors, the team of Fellows will position organizations to thrive in virtual events, taking advantage of unique opportunities available in the virtual space. In doing so, these organizations can build their own capacity to advance progress toward Sustainable Development Goals.
