" I am unbelievably excited to learn more about how to make a positive impact on my community. I hope to learn skills and knowledge that I will carry with me wherever I go, no matter the time or place. I eagerly await the learning, responsibility, and sharing of ideas that I will doubtless find in my Millennium Fellowship. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Intersectionality in Brandeis: Community Outreach

The goals of this project are to promote a conversation regarding intersectionality, inclusion, and community on Brandeis' campus. Utilizing the funds provided by the Karpf and Hahn Peace Grant, Ellie plans to coordinate two or three events with co-grantee Oona Wood. At these events - which will be co-planned by varying cultural clubs within Brandeis - conversations regarding intersectionality will be paired with speakers in order to create a memorable event that will promote future intersectional conversation on-campus. The goal of these events is 1. to provide a meeting place for those of varying cultures to connect, 2. to begin a serious conversation on an oft unexplored topic regarding campus culture, and 3. to provide a foundation for future events focusing on intersectionality.
