ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations.  80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Dhyan

Project Dhyan is a Community Oriented Disaster Preparedness Programme. Its major objectives will be to identify the most climate vulnerable spaces in Delhi, to map the levels of people's awareness about climate change in those localities and to understand culturally rooted strategies prevalent amongst the people. The study would be an attempt to map the spaces of vulnerability in the city of Delhi in the context of emerging threats from the urban climate disasters. The project, thus, will make an attempt to develop a spatially sound community-oriented disaster preparedness model. The major objectives of the project are:
- To identify the most climate vulnerable spaces in Delhi
- To map the levels of people's awareness about climate change in those localities
- To understand culturally rooted coping strategies prevalent amongst the people.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sulakshana Saikia is a 19 year old student from Guwahati, Assam. She studies in Indraprastha College For Women, University of Delhi. Her main motive is to become a GIS researcher but she also likes to get involve in social work activities. She is a straightforward person who loves to help others.
