" It is incredibly exciting to be able to establish a platform alongside other leaders working together to contribute to the United Nation's sustainability goals. I am overjoyed that I will be able to contribute to ensuring the health and well-being of others! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Mascaras y Esperanza

Mascaras y Esperanza will center around homemade masks and letters of hope created for migrants within the United States. Thousands of migrant workers and detained immigrants do not have any personal protective equipment that can serve as a physical means of defense against the coronavirus. The pandemic has caused an uproar of fear and uncertainty, which is why painted letters will be provided to give hope to these individuals. A minimum of 100 masks and 100 letters will be sent to farms and detention facilities across the U.S.

About the Millennium Fellow

Margarita Espinal deeply empathizes and expresses profound care for those who have a lack of resources and opportunities. The ability to experience different regions around the United States in a military family has enhanced her social and cultural awareness. She wishes to bring aid to individuals in need and is thrilled to partake in this fellowship.
