" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because this opportunity provides me a platform to grow and have a meaningful conversation with other Fellows about social change. I hope to use my knowledge to improve the overall health of our community, prevent disease, and remove environmental barriers for a better future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The COVID-19 Outreach Project

The COVID-19 Outreach Project is aimed to improve mental health, reduce misconceptions about COVID-19, and promote unity through this pandemic. Imaya hopes to create a website to give undergraduate students a chance to share their personal experiences with COVID-19 and how it has affected their mental health and livelihoods. Because of social distancing measures, individuals can feel isolated and helpless. It's important to inform others that they are not alone. Sharing personal experiences or stories provides closure and often heals us of the pain we are feeling. Imaya will measure her impact by interviewing 15 undergraduate students.
