ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Hive for Humanity
Hive for Humanity is a project that connects Habitat for Humanity with the Georgia Tech community. They are working with Habitat's ReStores to collect unwanted furniture at move out day in November/December 2020. The used furniture will be available for students and people in Atlanta to buy instead of purchasing new furniture. The project is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 122,800 pounds this year.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lara Kassabian is a third-year electrical engineering student at Georgia Tech who is interested in the roles of environmental sustainability and social justice in global development. She grew up in Atlanta but loves to visit her family in Montreal. At school she works with the Georgia Tech Haiti Solar Initiative which collaborates with Haitian entrepreneurs to sell solar power units in their communities. She also interns for FUSmobile, a startup working on HIFU treatment for arthritis.
