" I am honored becoming a Millennium Fellow in my junior phase of my academic program. Becoming part of the team that has pioneered participation in the Millennium Fellowship program (MFP) at my campus brings me much excitement and eagerness to have the program benefits spread in the institution. I applied for this opportunity because i knew it was to connect me to like-minded young leaders around the globe with whom i would share about how to transform Africa and the world at large through the education perspective. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Africa Students' Support Network (AFRISSUN)

The Africa Students' Support Network is an education support initiative registered as a community-based organisation in Uganda. The project activities are categorized under three principal programs; education support, mentorship and entrepreneurial leadership, all through which we empower potential to transform the African continent. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation where they can not organize public physical meetings, the Fellows hope to hold three zoom meetings to bring members into continuous benefit from the project. In these online meetings, they target about 50 members turn-up, and resourceful individuals will be invited to talk to them online. They also aim at sharing Afrissun monthly newsletter containing such information as afrissun featuring in the Millennium Fellowship and so on. The social media platforms will be the main channels of operation.
