ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: AFRICA STUDENT'S SUPPORT NETWORK (AFRISSUN)
The Africa Students' Support Network is an education support initiative registered as a community-based organisation in Uganda. The project activities are categorized under three principal programs; education support, mentorship and entrepreneurial leadership, all through which we empower potential to transform the African continent. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation where they can not organize public physical meetings, the Fellows hope to hold three zoom meetings to bring members into continuous benefit from the project. In these online meetings, they target about 50 members turn-up, and resourceful individuals will be invited to talk to them online. They also aim at sharing Afrissun monthly newsletter containing such information as afrissun featuring in the Millennium Fellowship and so on. The social media platforms will be the main channels of operation.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ronald Alema is a Ugandan born on 18/July/1999 in a family of five. He grew up in the hands of overprotective parents as such he didn't know what it meant to be a child. His parents expected a lot from thus he concentrated more on academics than on cocurricular activities.
He completed primary education in 2011 and high school in 2017. In 2018, he opted to join gulu university a public university with the aim of getting a government sponsorship since he came from economically average family where he is pursuing a bachelor degree in medicine and surgery. He is someone who is passionate about youth empowerment, improved education access and poverty eradication.
