" I am so excited to be a part of Millennium Fellowship because it affords me an opportunity to see my dreams of making the world a better place come to realities. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn and network with like minds to make sdgs achievable. I am angry at the atrocities in my society and the flagrant disregard for human rights, this platform give me an opportunity to do something about it. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Human rights for Humanity

Human rights for Humanity targets young people on their rights and complaint mechanisms for when they are violated. The mode of enlightenment will include visiting secondary schools, staging a human rights rally on Human Right's day and discussion with stakeholders on Human Right's protection. This project is in line with the SDG goal I am interested in; and encompasses my devotion and commitment to Hi.an rights protection in my locality. The project is targeted at young people because I believe when these rights are recognized early enough, then there is a lot more probability of its enforcement and I am banking on the fact that young people make up about 60 per cent of the country; this will safe guard the future. Also, young people have more influence on one another and by educating them, they are able to reach out to other youths, which make up a network and makes it easier to reach a lot of people. Within August to December, I believe to have been able to reach and educate at least 5 schools with population of more than 50 in each of these schools which would impact a minimum of 250 students who will be able to educate their other friends, relatives and families which would lead to a broader reach.
