Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Edify
Most schools in India are not equipped with the infrastructure and perspective to introduce students to tertiary skills outside of the prescribed curriculum. In alignment with SDG 4 for education and SDG 12 for sustainable, responsible consumption, Project Edify seeks to immerse school students in hands-on sustainability projects to introduce them to skills such as idea development, design thinking, and a mindset for sustainability, which cannot be inculcated solely through books. Students will brainstorm solutions to improve sustainability in their local community, and will be guided by the team through the structure of verification, research, problem solving, self-scrutiny, and refinement of their projects. The prototypes of the students' projects will be published on social media and will work in tandem with awareness campaigns to push the world an inch closer to sustainability.
