" The Millennium Fellowship will be a great opportunity for me to meet students from all around the world who are working on initiatives to solve socially relevant issues. The skills and knowledge that I look forward to gaining as a part of the semester-long program will definitely help me and my team in our current project in setting up a climate study center and further aid us in creating an impact. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Campus Climate Collective

The project is focussed at setting up a Climate Study Center which brings together research under the domain of climate, energy, and environment - mainly fuel cells/battery capabilities, air quality, electric vehicles and clean fuel, sustainable cities and built environment, clean water, and green enterprise marketing. The Fellows plan to set up the centre under the aegis of the Interdisciplinary Research Program and use it to bring together research across departments, liaising with the International Center for Clean Water, Indo-German Center for Sustainability, within the institute and the Centre for Battery Engineering and Electric Vehicles (CBEEV), Centre for Urbanization, Buildings, and Environment (CUBE), International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW) at the IIT Madras Research Park.

The goal is to set up a one-stop destination for research scholars and students to network and find professors across disciplines to aid them with their research in the broad domain of climate whatever their department might be, facilitating interdisciplinarity, collaborations between researchers in a mutually beneficial way, having an internal peer review pre-print server, sharing research in the domain faster and more efficiently and facilitating a centre capable of conducting conferences, hosting a board of directors of expert academics and industry leaders in the domain and being an avenue for sponsored research.
