United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC SPACES
The main objective of the project is to determine the environmental management measures that can be put in place in public open spaces of residential neighborhoods in urban areas.The project will help notify planners and users of public spaces on the values of environmental management thus promoting sustainable development within urban areas.
About the Millennium Fellow
Malala Hamphrey Onyango was born in the year 1998 in Kenya, he developed an early interest in the built environment and this has been his driving force making him to successfully move from one level of education to another, currently, he is pursuing a course that is related to the built environment, that is bachelor of real estate, at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. During the holiday, he takes that opportunity to sharpen his skills of leadership by working in a small real estate company majoring in land valuation. He currently lives in Migori town and he enjoys traveling and meeting new friends.
