ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Working with my team at school will horne my social skills and this will help me especially to know how to interact with different people,understand people and accommodate their views. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Affordable Housing
With the country's population increasing drastically,there has been a high demand for proper housing.Most population visits the town for better opportunities.To start off,they end up living in the shanties especially when they end up tarmacing.The low income earners live in dilapidated houses simply because that's what affordable to them. Joyce desires to change the narrative that affordable housing doesn't necessarily mean living in natural stone houses.Affordable housing is more of adequate (to sustain the needs), safe and affordable (to meet the effective demand).This trickles down to good quality housing. That we can defy the conventional materials of construction and still achieve a descent house.This will help to reduce the gap of the housing deficit which is averagely two million.
This can be achieved by mainly creating awareness to communities.By using the various social media platforms and blogs,the message will be conveyed to approximately 1000 people per month.

Joyce Wamaitha Muthoni is a resilient tenacious dedicated and hard-working young lady.She is a go getter and unstoppable.Joyce had a burning passion to be the change that she desires to see.She is receptive to change and new ideas.Though reserved,she has a well developed people skills.
