" I believe the Millennium Fellowship will provide me with excellent tools to tackle matters I truly believe in and allow me to continue refining my leadership skills in order to have a positive impact on my community. I also want to take part in this largely because I do not want to wait until I am of a certain age to have an impact. In the wake of the climate crisis with recent environmental disasters happening worldwide, it only seems fair to take action and help avoid future damages, and I believe this Fellowship will be a step in the right direction. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Zero Waste Initiative

At its core, the Zero Waste Initiative's goal is to transition local educational facilities namely schools and university campuses into zero waste facilities, and hence encourage the youth to pursue a zero waste lifestyle. The plastic industry is currently producing more plastic than ever. The solution is not a billion-dollar bailout for the plastic industry, it is a better system. In this regard, the project aim is to foster communities of dedicated and responsible young individuals in hopes of providing them with the necessary tools to combat this crisis. Zero Waste Initiative will raise awareness on the waste and climate crisis and recruit volunteers within a diverse set of teams through lectures in schools and universities each reaching 500-1000 people. This initiative will live primarily through social media platforms with one zero waste project tackled every month along the realms of eliminating waste, growing produce, and replacing single-use products with reusable ones.
