Millennium Fellowship Project: Act 4 Her Initiative

Women of reproductive age group, especially those in developing countries face numerous challenges regarding their sexual and reproductive health. The Act 4 Her Initiative seeks to promote women's reproductive health by increasing awareness on the use of appropriate and suitable contraceptive methods to prevent unwanted and high-risk pregnancies, the need to plan families including spacing of pregnancies and limiting the family size, in order to prevent or reduce maternal mortality to the barest minimum. Also to create and increase awareness on the dangers of Teenage pregnancy, unsafe abortion, Sexually transmitted diseases, Female Genital Mutilation, Child/forced marriage, and others.

By the end of 2020, the Millennium Fellows would have hosted about 20 events reaching out to about 2000 persons aged 15-49 years of the Women of Reproductive Age Group across departments of the 12 faculties in Niger Delta University. They will achieve this through Social media platforms including WhatsApp and Facebook.
