ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Act 4 Her Initiative
Women of reproductive age group, especially those in developing countries face numerous challenges regarding their sexual and reproductive health. The Act 4 Her Initiative seeks to promote women's reproductive health by increasing awareness on the use of appropriate and suitable contraceptive methods to prevent unwanted and high-risk pregnancies, the need to plan families including spacing of pregnancies and limiting the family size, in order to prevent or reduce maternal mortality to the barest minimum. Also to create and increase awareness on the dangers of Teenage pregnancy, unsafe abortion, Sexually transmitted diseases, Female Genital Mutilation, Child/forced marriage, and others.
By the end of 2020, the Millennium Fellows would have hosted about 20 events reaching out to about 2000 persons aged 15-49 years of the Women of Reproductive Age Group across departments of the 12 faculties in Niger Delta University. They will achieve this through Social media platforms including WhatsApp and Facebook.
About the Millennium Fellow
Emmanuel Ehwre is a 400 level student of Niger Delta University, studying medicine and surgery. He is an event planner, an Academician and an enthusiastic medic,who is actively involve in campaigns on sexual and reproductive health, organizing local outreach on campus on the use of contraceptives. He has worked with different NGOs and organisations like; Bayelsa State COVID-19 task force,Izibe alua foundation, SCORA-NiMSA, SCOPH-NiMSA, etc. He is also involve in students politics, thus; he has held several leadership position on campus and was the PRO11 of the Nigeria Medical Student Association (NiMSA)-2018/2019.
