" Getting selected as a Millennium Fellow is one of the best things that has happened to me. While giving my team's cause more credibility and hence, this opportunity will enable us to widen our reach and impact mothers and their children even more. This cause is dear to my heart, I firmly believe that when women are empowered, they can do wonders. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Nurture
The 'Nurture' Initiative aims to provide mother-child kits to provide antenatal care for mothers and to inculcate the importance of education and immunization for the child. The 'Nurture' initiative aims to provide mother and child kits which consists of books, sanitary napkins, the essential information in regional languages regarding immunization, and provide medicines. The Fellows want to empower women by intellectual education and help break down taboos that surround menstrual health for women. They aim to reach out to 10 villages and impact about 1000 lives or 200 families in these villages. They further aim to organize mentorship in orphanages and government schools to support underprivileged children's learning endeavours.
