UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT SAHER ARORA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2020.
Nova Southeastern University | Florida, United States | Advancing SDG 10 & UNAI 6
" My name is Saher Arora and I am a rising Junior at Nova Southeastern University! I am pursuing a degree in Biology with a minor in Global Engagement. I hope to use my passion for public health and medicine along with my interest in global engagement and awareness to create change on my campus and community. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Closing the Wage Gap
Saher plan to use the Millennium Fellowship as a microphone into the campus's community. With the guidance and efforts of fellow Millennium Fellowship members, Saher hopes to collaborate with others who are looking to make an impact. Saher and her peers once collaborated to host an event tagged "What Are We Ghana Eat" which worked to simultaneously raise awareness for the wage gap between men and women and Ghana through group discussion while raising funds for a scholarship to fund the study abroad of students who have not had the opportunity to leave the country before. Using the platform and guidance provided by the Millennium Fellowship, Saher hopes to put on similar events for the campus in order to promote the support of organizations such as Global Alliance for National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) through open group discussions.
The goal is from August through December of 2020 to create an outreach to at least 500 students on campus and raise at least $2000 to be donated to organizations such as Global Alliance for National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI)
About the Millennium Fellow
