UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT QURAT UL AIN KARIM, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2020.

National University of Sciences & Technology | Islamabad, Pakistan | Advancing SDG 8 & UNAI 2

" I have been given countless opportunities in life and have learnt a lot from them. Passing on what you have learnt in life is an important part of coming full circle. I believe that everyone can contribute to society if they are willing to. I am so excited that Millennium is allowing me to initiate my own project and implement the ideas I have been building up over the years. The team and alums of Millennium Fellowship have years of experience in sustainable development and I am really excited to learn from them. There is a lot you can achieve when you have a team backing you up. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: (to be determined)

Suffering from the lack of work-study programs/culture in Pakistan, the team has decided to start a movement around it. The project focuses on helping students find work opportunities, mentoring them about employability and entrepreneurship, and spreading awareness around the need for students to be financially independent.
The project aims to:
- Build an online community of students who have successful work-study stories
- Provide a one-stop platform for finding internships and part-time jobs to high school and university students
- Help at least 15 students find the right mentors and guidance through our platform
- Get more organizations on board for creating work-study opportunities in the market

About the Millennium Fellow

Qurat ul Ain Karim is a civil engineering student at National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan. She spent most of her high school tutoring children and found her calling in helping others maneuver through the paths she struggled with once. Being a firm believer in experiencing life in its various colors, she always tries to push herself out of her comfort zone. She aims to encourage others to do so and build themselves up. Coming further in life than she ever expected, she wants to step up and help others seek the opportunities around them.
