ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations.  80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Asake Initiative

The Asake Initiative is an project aimed at alleviating the pressure posed by poverty on the indigenes of the South Western Nigeria through women empowerment schemes and mentorship. An estimate of about 50-100 people should be positively impacted during the duration of the fellowship 

To measure the impact of the project, we empower 50 women with skills to earn a living as well as structure mentorship platforms for 20 girls in the community. The empowered girls would also go on the educate those around them. Due to the global pandemic, safety precautionary measures such as use of sanitizers, nose masks and face shield employed as well as educating the community members on the virus.

About the Millennium Fellow

Oluwadamipe Adedeji is a Law student at Obafemi Awolowo University. She enjoys writing and blogs regularly on different subjects. She is an entrepreneur,specializing in bespoke female wear and accessories.She is passionate about seeing women succeed and become trailblazers for the next generation.
