Millennium Fellowship Project: Steel City Sapna

Steel City Sapna is about to bring talent from all across the nation together to cherish the South Asain culture. Steel City Sapna is a nonprofit organization under the University of Pittsburgh that works to showcase the amazing South Asain talent within the collegiate circuit. This is done through hosting a competition where we have 16 teams compete to raise money for a charity. The team typically has 8 Bollywood fusion dance teams and 8 acappella teams coming to compete every year. This event is more geared to our community. With local sponsors and donations as well as audience members from all over the east coast we are able to come together and raise money for a great cause. Through august- December of 2020, the team will work on gathering local sponsors for our event in February of 2021. This will consist of spreading awareness of our event and work towards making a memorable competition for the community. This year, the team will be donating all of the proceeds to Make a Wish foundation in Pittsburgh. In Hindi Sapna means dream. Through this event, Nishtha and the team hope to make kids dreams come true!
