ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2020

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations.  80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows.  The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Intersectional Anthropology Research

Sara will be aiding research in the Rollins College Department of Anthropology on the intersection between anti-immigration policy and LGBTQ+ rights in Orlando, Florida. The goal is to work closely with activism groups in Orlando to produce research that helps them further their goals. During the semester, Sara will be assisting the principle investigator with qualitative data collection, aiding in interview transcription, and examining anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ+ politics.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sara Mehdinia is a sophomore at Rollins College majoring in computer science and minoring in math and creative writing. She is interested in using computer science to analyze broad patterns in society, as well as aid social causes. Currently she works as a writing consultant in the Tutoring and Writing Center. She reads and writes speculative fiction in her free time.
