" I am excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship because it is a great opportunity to interact with many people with different ideas. I am looking forward to growing as a person and increasing my capability to make an impact. I am working to protect the environment because I strongly believe that the protection of our resources is fundamental for all human life. I am determined to change the relationship people have with their environment from one of pure utility to one of where people realise that they also need to give back to the environment. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Sisi ni suluhisho (We are the solution)
In order to heal the earth and heal nature. We have to start with ourselves. Sisi ni suluhisho is a phrase in swahili which translates as "We are the solution" in English. The aim of this project is to educate the people on the impact themselves as individuals can have on the environment and climate change. Furthermore, to increase the research in the study of specific communities in order to customise the ways that they as a community can care for their environment , accommodating their culture and beliefs in order to make their efforts are more sustainable instead of imposing a general practice that they may not be able to maintain. This project intends to enlighten the people to realise that the power is in their hands.
