" I am unbelievably grateful and honoured to be part of the Millennium Fellowship this year because it is an opportunity for me to give back to a community that has not only welcomed me but has also been incredibly kind to me. Working to end avoidable maternal and infant deaths is close to my heart because it signifies the renewed outlook I have on motherhood. It is of extreme importance that we safeguard expectant mothers and new-born born babies by eliminating systemic incapacity and errors that negatively affect their fragile states. We owe it to them. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Kenya Safi Organization

Kenya Safi Organisation was a project intended to be the 'uber' of litter from the garbage disposal points
to the recyclers. Besides that, the project also aimed to set up convenient dumping sites and several bins
to reduce littering and encourage proper disposal. However, due to the pandemic globally faced, we had
to redefine our objectives. We aim at informing people about the dangers of improper plastic disposal.
This was done over a series of 8 webinars where we not only informed them on the effects of improper
plastic disposal but also trained them on how to be more eco-friendly. In doing so, we hoped that they
would share the information they gained with others, thus impacting more people. Each webinar had an
average of 18 people, and they have shown tremendous effort in keeping the environment clean (from
starting their own organic gardens to composting and reducing their carbon footprint).
