Working to end avoidable maternal and infant deaths is close to my heart because it signifies the renewed outlook I have on motherhood. It is of extreme importance that we safeguard expectant mothers and new-born born babies by eliminating systemic incapacity and errors that negatively affect their fragile states. We owe it to them. "
