" I am delighted to serve as a cohort for the Millennium Fellowship because it provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with a team who share similar goals as myself. Having access to the state of the art trainings and resources the fellowship provides is a once in a lifetime experience to make a long lasting impact within my community by promoting good health and education standard to those who are most underserved. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Cloud of Witnesses

Cloud of Witnesses is an online portal that will serve as a consortium for various stories and resources from our community. The webpage would address the problems that the team feels are important in our world, especially those issues that are currently being exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. These issues include, but are not limited to, racial inequalities, housing insecurity, mental health, and health disparities. On the website, the team will publish various stories that will provide personal perspectives and expert opinions to provide fact-based information. The UNC Charlotte Millennium Fellows hope to provide informational graphics, written/auditory advice, and videos with the backing of medical professionals and UNC Charlotte professors to increase awareness and lower mental health risks during and after stay at home orders are lifted. In addition, the team also seeks to launch an informational podcast accessible through our webpage, which will widen their reach. To ensure that the project is successful, the team plans to partner with not only resources from the university but within the wider community.

To measure the impact, the team of Cloud of Witnesses will use Google analytics and monitor the website and social media platforms. The team envisions this outreach to be between 5,000 and 9,999 people who are positively impacted by the content shared on the platform. When people engage with the website, they will initially be asked to provide what relationship they have to the Cloud of Witnesses, whether they be students or reside in the Greater Charlotte area.
