" Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you. - Shannon Adler. One of the motivating factors that has bolstered my passion for being a Millennium Fellow is the joy i derive from helping people and solving problems. I grew up fascinatedby the prospect of being in a position to assist my country, Nigeria, and our people who suffer from all sort of sexual violence. I just find it so rewarding to help make people's lives better. I love doing something that makes the world a better place and i enjoy knowing that what i am doing is helping save lives. I love being a part of the future and make a difference. Hence, the Millennium Fellowship means alot to me. Being a Millennium Fellow will create a platform for me to engage youthful leaders around the world and connect with groups of young individuals from diverse cultures to proffer solutions that will help improve lives and our respective environments. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sexually Abused Females (SAF) Projecr

According to statistics, one in every four girls has been sexually assaulted before the age of 18. The Sexually Abused Females (SAF) Project is focused on helping teenagers and children who have been exposed to rape or sexual violence. Alot of children and teenagers are being violated everyday and are scared to speak out or tell anyone due to fear or some feelings of guilt. Hence, this project aims at educating children and teenagers on what to do when faced with a situation of sexual violence. It would also focus on helpinggirls through the emotional and physical healing process of sexual assalt. A public enlightenment program would be held to educate people both young and old about rape, what it does to it's victims and solutions to issues of sexual harrasement.

I hope to carryout two (2) enlightment programs reaching outto about 200 female children and teenagers and about 50 sexually assaulted females responding to physical and emotional healing.
