Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Health above all

Project Health for all seeks to address health issues beginning first in both University of Nigeria campuses (UNN and UNEC). This initative seeks to enlighten the students and the public on the need to donate blood voluntarily. It also seeks to build blood banks in both campuses and research on how to get solutions to power issues which is a challenge in building blood banks.

In addition, students at the University of Nigeria Nsukka and Enugu campuses are entitled to free medical treatment because of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). However, one needs to go through rigorous processes before one can access this free medical treatment. As a result of this, many students have resulted to self medication which can lead to drug abuse. Project health for all seeks to also address this problem by making the process easier. For decades, the process have been done manually. This had to change because of the ever growing population of students as well as advancement in Technology. Manual registration is no longer feasible. The Millennium Fellows at University of Nigeria want to make this process easier by introducing Technology and innovation in this process by digitalizing the process of enrolling to health insurance.
