United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: SmartCycler
My enterprise seek to leverage Artificial Intelligence to address plastic waste. SmartCyclers offers smart waste solutions that motivate users to exchange their waste for cash at the comfort of their homes. It introduces electronic means of waste collection and recycling of collected waste through a mobile application where users get to minimize their impact on the environment and sustain their environment while doing so.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jide is a penultimate student of University of Lagos, studying Geography with a minor in Education. He currently serve as the President of the Green Club, University of Lagos, an environmental club that promotes awareness of environmental issues and sustainable development goals within the school community.
He is passionate about making positive social impact by advocating against plastic pollution and educating a youth targeted climate change education in his society.
