CMUL | Lagos, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 9
" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I get to interact with young, vibrant, like-minded individuals who just want to make some positive impact in their own little way. I believe that health is a very vital part of our lives and our society at large. It is a fundamental human right and should be treated as such and what better way to start introducing the hygiene culture than to the younger generation. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Hygiene Project
The Hygiene Project is an initiative borne out of a desire to help tackle some of the present day health issues affecting young school children. A lot of health conditions could be prevented among these kids, if they know the right actions to take especially with regards to their hygiene. The current pandemic situation is even more reason why this is very necessary. This project would help educate these young ones on the proper hygiene behaviours; How to maintain good hand and personal hygiene generally, and why they should imbibe such behaviours.
Because of the uncertainties created as a result the pandemic, virtual alternatives may be the primary means of communication used. We would reach out to one-three schools and in total educate more than 80 school children. We would also use other social media platforms to enlighten the general public about proper hygiene culture.
