United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Utange Vocational Training
Utange vocational training aims to equip disabled girls in the community with handcraft skills to make beautiful products that we sell , thus earning the girls revenue.The project helps keep the girls busy and protect them at the same time .They also earn a living from it and at the end have a life-long skill.We also mentor the girls and equip them with life skills.The discipline and dedication they foster in the vocational training has ripple effects into other facets of their lives.They report increased confidence in themselves and a sense of belonging.The vocational training serves as a community too where they get to share problems and celebrate together .We looking to scale our impact by increasing infrastructure and increase number of girls enrolled.Out success criteria will be increased infrastructure and increased admissions.
About the Millennium Fellow
Victor Baraza is a Medical student at the University of Nairobi .He is passionate about design thinking and innovation to come up with novel solutions for challenges both locally and globally. Coupled with his strong leadership skills he is a great leader.
