" The social structures I learn about inside my classrooms can also be found in my own life. I've taken notes about structural racism, but I've also experienced it as an Asian-American. I've written papers about class differences, but I've also experienced it coming from a low-income, immigrant family. Through my education and life experiences, I have found a deep desire to give a voice to the marginalized and oppressed. I seek to use my voice to speak up for those who have been stripped of theirs. More than anything, I seek to do “for the least of these” all that I can because I was once lost and broken, but now I am found and whole. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Promoting Racial Awareness in Schools (PRAIS)

Promoting Racial Awareness in Schools (PRAIS) is an organization and project dedicated to combating racism in education and supporting minority students by working with schools to introduce racial literacy initiatives.

PRAIS will work with schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to introduce racial literacy initiatives such as race-centered assemblies, classroom discussions, and racial literacy programs. By promoting such initiatives, PRAIS seeks to educate students and build more equitable communities.
