" It is an honor to be part of a cohort of such talented individuals. I strongly believe meaningful impact does not stem from a single individual but from a group of determined people who are willing to put in the work and effort necessary. I have always had an overpowering desire to positively impact my community and I vehemently believe the Millennium Fellowship will provide me with the mentorship and guidance necessary to do so. This is an invaluable experience and I am excited to be a valuable asset to the team and to foster a welcoming environment of productivity by empowering my peers and challenging each other, always leading by example. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Access to Clothes Together (A.C.T)

Access to Clothes Together (A.C.T) will be an organization that connects families who wish to donate their child's clothes to another child in a low-income family, becoming that child's sponsor. It follows the tradition of younger siblings who receive their older siblings' hand-me-downs. It aims to create a more direct connection between donors and those who receive their donations, creating a deeper sense of unity. Donors (both parents and children) will have the ability to know that they are directly impacting another child's life. Young children typically grow out of their clothes quickly, putting a financial strain on low-income families to provide and find adequate solutions. The goal for Fall 2020 will be to raise $1,000 that will go towards shipping and cleaning fees, in addition to producing educational material within the service. A.C.T also aims to connect successfully 20 donors and respective recipients. The team hopes to expand the operations teams to 10 members by recruiting within the USF community.
