" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow as I believe that it is a wonderful platform for me to pursue my initiative, H-ART-fulness for Kids, and address the issue of poor mental health among children, which is most often taken for granted in our society. I am also excited to meet other young leaders from whom I will be able to gain a lot of inspiration. I especially want to learn how to properly build support for an initiative. I can ensure that I will use this opportunity to help our future generation go through hard times. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: H-ART-fulness for Kids
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many kids to stay in their homes, which has contributed to the development of stress in the young population. The H-ART-fulness for Kids project was initiated to help children effectively manage their stress. It has been scientifically proven that art and meditation are effective in reducing stress levels. Hence, this project intends to incorporate art into Heartfulness meditation, a way of life that focuses on discovering the heart. The children will participate in virtual sessions that include art lessons and simple Heartfulness relaxation exercises, provided by trained volunteers. Incorporating Heartfulness into elementary education has only been executed in few schools across the United States. Therefore, my mission is to spread Heartfulness to more children and develop a peace-loving future generation. We are targeting to reach around 300 students by this December.
