United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2020, 15,159 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2020 on 1,458 campuses across 135 nations. 80 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 1,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2020 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: internet for Africa
Internet for Africa aims to help all students and people who are suffering with the internet in Africa but for now will focus on a small town in South Africa called Khayelitsha. Xiyimo aims to raise money and ask the local municipality to support on by bringing in the reliable and fast internet one of the area that are affected. Xiyimo also hopes to notify all the ISP to help bring better network connection in this area.
About the Millennium Fellow
Xiyimo Excite Baloyi is originally from a rural area in mninginisi Block 3, currently based in Cape Town and is a second year student at the University of Western Cape purusing a degree in computer science.
