" Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will give me a voice i didn't have, because not much of awareness have been created on the dangers of plastic pollution and the possibilities to curb it, it would have been a difficult task to start with without the Millennium Fellowship platform. I am happy that I found MCN and i am happy I have found a voice! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: No to Plastic Pollution

SheCan Initiative is a project aimed at educating and developing young girls and women, while at the same time empowering them to become agents of positive change in their local communities. This is in line with a desire to help achieve SDGs 5 and 8 (Gender Equality; Decent Work and Economic Growth), especially in the local communities surrounding Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

SheCan Initiative is an effort to incorporate more women into the world of work. Statistics show that the ratio of women to men in the workforce is uneven. SheCan Initiative seeks to change the status quo by advocating equal rights for women in the workplace. It also aims at enlightening girls and young ladies at the grassroots, while providing adequate career/entrepreneurial support for ambitious girls and women. This is with an aim to make more women self-reliant, guarantee better living standards for families, and ultimately foster the growth of Nigeria's economy.

She is a lady that has been so enthusiastic about making a change in the society, whatever it is, just anything positive. Until recently, she found what precisely she wants to start with. It was a sweet coincidence because just when she had a focus on the societal impact she wanta to make, she came across the Millennium Campus felliwship. Khadija Abdullahi would want to be among the first persons to make a tangible move on reducing plastic pollution
