ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Being part of this Millennium Fellowship gives me the opportunity to enhance this skills collaboratively. The skills I gain from Millennium Fellowship will make my social impact on schools and art more tangible and aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I am excited to increase my anticipatory competence by envisioning new ways of learning and creativity. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Larias Health Initiative

Larias Health Initiative is aimed at addressing the morbidity and mortality rate of malaria in high-risk population groups particularly among the children under 5 years of age and pregnant women. This entails sensitizing them on its prevention, symptoms through health outreaches and campaign as well as media publications. During the Millennium Fellowship period (August-November 2021) project LARIAS HEALTH INITIATIVE will organize 2 community health outreaches focusing on the rural areas (where screening would be done) as well as 2 webinars where medical information on malaria prevention and control will be provided and ultimately aiming to reach about 500 people.

About the Millennium Fellow

Falana Oluwakanyinsola is a young, bright, and globally competitive fifth year medical student at Afe babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. She resides in Lagos , and was born in Lagos. She is currently studying Medicine and Surgery. Kanyin has always been passionate about health, because to her health is wealth .She's also passionate about social justice and right to good health, advicacies. Throughout her stay in school she has been in several leadership positions where she carried out different projects and assignments pertaining to leadership. And she plans to continue this for the future. Kanyin aspires to be in a professional field where she can cultivate this advicacies further, and provide her own contribution in the development of the United Nation's Sustainable Goals.
