ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" “Be the change you want to see in the world” is what my mantra has been since I read this quote on my classroom wall when I was 8. With MCN I have an opportunity at synergic learning and skill upgradation with people around the globe who are working for the same cause. I aim at fostering values of awareness and compassion for self and others to eradicate the stigma surrounding certain topics. Millennium Fellowship will equip me with he competence to make a substantial change that is in congruence with the values of UNAI. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Psychkey

A Cancer Awareness Project that was carried out in 3 phases, an online awareness campaign which reached out to over 300 people and a physical awareness campaign in a local market in Ewu, Esan Central, Edo State Nigeria which also reached over 300 people. We educated on cancers, the epidemiology, risk factors, preventive measures, importance of screeenings and the available treatment options. The final phase involved offering 100 free Cervical Cancer screenings, 100 free PSA for prostate cancer screening and 50 free mammograms for Breast Cancer Screening.

About the Millennium Fellow

Shatakshi Joshi is a young and driven Psychology student with a passion for social change. She is pursuing her Bachelors of Sciences in Clinical Psychology from Amity University, Mumbai, India. Born and brought up in a developing country, she has an ardent desire to work for the community, with strong focus on the social, mental and sexual health of women, children as well as the lesser talked about populations of men and the under-privileged. With her dedication, creativity, relentless efforts and empathetic leadership she intends to work towards achieving the SDG’s. In the future, as a professional, she wants to continue social impact work along with her Clinical Practice.
