" The Millennium Fellowship allows me to combine two fields I'm passionate about to make an impact on a larger scale. I'm given the platform to work on a project that combines my interests in psychology and international affairs and overall works towards sustainable development. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: TelePsych Effectiveness Criteria
This project looks to create a criteria to expand effective psychological care services to a broader number of people through telemedicine. Many people living in rural areas or generally farther from healthcare facilities may have barriers to accessing proper in-person psychological care. And in general, psychological care can be very time-consuming. While in-person care has its unique benefits, telehealth can be a promising substitute that combats these barriers. It is important to communicate how to minimize the detriments of telehealth to make it a more meaningful experience for both the practitioner and patient.
