Millennium Fellowship Project: Transforming Specialty
Transforming Specialty is a group project led by six Millenium fellows of the University of Chittagong(CU). It supports SDG 04, quality education, and SDG 08, decent work, and economic growth. The main purpose of this project is to help the visually impaired students of CU in their academics, working on their skill development ensuring their active engagement in extracurricular activities. To gain our project goals we have done some relevant activities and participated in examinations as stenographers, celebrated International White Cane Safety Day, provided academic support. Organized session or ‘Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities-2013’ and its implementation, and ‘Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)’. All of our activities were conducted for our target people, visually impaired students.
About the Millennium Fellow
Israt Jahan Leena is a young, passionate and enthusiastic 3rd year student of department of International Relations at University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. From her childhood she was passionate about to do something for the society, community and the country she belongs. She is a dreamer with lots of dreams and wishes. As a very position person, she believes in herself, full of confidence. Leena always loves the change, she embraces changes and believes it is her responsibility to bring a positive change around her. Her optimistic attitude is her biggest strength. Leena believes, it’s just the matter of time to touch the sky of achievement. Her hobbies are travelling, photography, reading various kind of books. She has a good response to extra curricular activities and voluntary work. She enjoys to introduce with new people.
