In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. I have found Millennium Fellowship as a felicitous field to polish my project about "Transgender Socialization" and relate it with SDGs. As a youth, I'm also enchanted to engage myself with various emphatic minds for clarifying my point of views. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Socialize Transgender
"Socialize Transgenders" is a subordinate project of a non-governmental organization named "Better Future Bangladesh", where we the two fellows Md. Nafhsin Mabud Efti and Tanaya Nath are working as the proudest volunteers of this organization for the trans-gender people to mainstream them in society. This project aims to dispelling social stigma towards third genders and normalize their life. In civil society, transgenders are awfully ignorant and deprived of maintaining standard livelihood. That's why the project targets to bring them in civil society by celebrating festivals with them, finding out favourable workplace, managing better household etc. Though, due to pandemic, some process are going mildly.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tanaya Nath is an enthusiast, ingenious and undergraduate at the Department of International Relations. She is from Chittagong, the commercial city of Bangladesh and at present studying in University of Chittagong. She always thinks of being a compatible global citizen and concerned about society. From the very beginning of her university days, she is volunteering with few organizations concerned about transgender socialization and menstrual hygiene awareness. The young lady yearns for pursuing fruitful directions to contribute more in social performances and desires to be a suitable part of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
