" I believe that maximum learning takes place when we interact with each other and share our uniqueness. Getting the opportunity to become a part of this community of social advocates and changemakers is the reason why I am so excited to begin my journey as a Millennium Fellow. I am looking forward to interacting with young leaders from all around the world, developing new skills, and using my existing abilities to turn my ideas into reality and bring tangible change, no matter big or small! We are a youth led initiative that is focused on advancing SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being) by raising awareness about breast cancer and it’s early detection.
Being the most prevalent type of cancer among Indian women, it takes at least one life every 13 minutes. One in 28 Indian women are at risk of developing breast cancer during their lifetime. Due to lack of awareness, proper healthcare facilities and late diagnosis, the mortality rates associated with it are quite high.
We aim to tackle this problem and spread awareness amongst as many people as possible through comprehensive workshops and training sessions, curated under the guidance of health experts.
