Through the support I am expecting to receive from the platform, my vision will be brought to reality. Millennium Fellowship Project: ECO-WHEEL

ECO-WHEEL works on gathering and reusing household waste as reasonable substrates to produce Maggots and manure. Maggots are affordable, green, and sustainable high protein feed/ supplement for livestock like pigs, poultry, birds, and fish. We started with a demonstration for practical and teaching purposes at our campus and then proceeded to surrounding communities. We use videos and small pamphlets to reach and educate people in and out of the university. The objective of the project is to provide a cheap alternative supplementary feed(maggots) for farmers, to promote a farming practice that is economically viable, socially just, and environmentally friendly, and to reduce the energy loss within the food web and also promote the spirit of recycling.

About the Millennium Fellow

Faith Sakala is a young lady aged 20 years who believes in Obama´s quote, "you are the change you want to see." She was labeled as a fiery competitor since high school in different activities she has endulged in.She is currently at EARTH University studying Agriculture engineering, it is not only a place of study but an environment where her leadership is being developed because currently she is the MasterCard Foundation president for the institution among the student body. She is an agent of change and she is passionate about conserving endangered species, such as sea mammals like Tilapia.. She is inspired by her idol Lupita Nyongo who is an advocate to preventing Wild life from extinction. She is assured through her career and a platform like Millennium Fellow her zeal will be brought to life through innovations of fish ponds that will use the technology in agriculture of an automatic fish feeder and fish nets.
