ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Planting Peace with Police

My project aimed to mediate conflict and deescalate tension existing between law enforcement and minority youth in the Greenville, South Carolina community through sustainable farming and facilitating crucial conversations about race, identity, and conflict resolution.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ava Macheledt is a 4th-year undergraduate student at Furman University studying History and Politics & International Affairs with a minor in Poverty Studies. Her undergraduate experiences have sparked a passion in her for public interest law focused on restorative justice, criminal justice reform, and prisoners' rights. Ava is community-driven and seeks to serve those around her.
