" Empathetic, sustainable and intersectional feminisim are the core of any work I strive to do. The Millennium Fellowship is an honour and would give me an opportunity to learn and understand leadership skills in an incomparable way. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sign With Us

Sign With Us is an initiative that aims to work for individuals with hearing and speech impairment by spreading Indian Sign Language based literacy amongst academics, corporates and general communities. This will aid multilingual and inclusive learning in Indian academic institutions. Which connects to SDG 4 i.e quality education and SDG 10 i.e Reduced Inequality. Alongside, we aim to sensitise corporates to help the hearing and speech impaired communities get equal opportunities to build a career. This would support them to become financially independent.

About the Millennium Fellow

Deepti Mandal is an enthusiastic, empathetic and creative individual. She is passionate about social justice and equity issues and tries to engage with it from an intersectional feminist lens. I particularly care about mental health, gender, disability and education issues the most. People deserve to live with dignity and stability irrespective of their identities. I strive to see a world where people can be their authentic selves and have access to all basic human rights.
