" A perpetual desire to learn and remain adaptive to new challenges motivates me towards work. I believe being a Millennium Fellow will equip me with new skills and hone the ones I have. Working for the cause of cervical cancer awareness and prevention, the sheer exhilaration of getting an opportunity to positively impact the lives of women and the network of talented people to which I will have access will definitely improve the quality of our efforts and will be readily manifested in our endeavours and the results. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: ImpactHut Learning

ImpactHut Learning is a project addressing school students of Classes 6 to 12 in India, with the aim of inculcating 21st-century skill sets and mindsets in students for them to live a well-rounded and balanced life. This project works on various kinds of events with the vision of SDG 4: Quality Education and UNAI Principle 3 - Education for All. This project is important to the Millennium Fellows as due to the closure of schools and lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, children have lost the utmost important opportunity to develop their personalities and skills. Another reading being the school education system focuses more on the academic side and misses out on the real-world skills.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ismail Siddiqui is a bright and motivated student pursuing an integrated Masters in Development Studies at IIT Madras. A true interdisciplinary at heart, he can be found engaging in various disciplines such as economics, philosophy, politics, finance, languages and literature at the same time. Born and raised in India, he is passionate about solving the ills he sees around him and strives to work for the same. Two credos drive him forward: "Ignoramus"- that we can never know everything and thus have to always remain in the process of learning; and, "Panta rhei"-exhibiting the transient nature of the world and the consequent and constant need for adaptation and flexibility, never letting us remain in our comfort zone.
